Romantic Canoe Wedding Styled Shoot
Featuring Pantone Colors Rose Quartz and Serenity
This past April, we joined a group of super talented vendors from the Columbus area to do a styled shoot featuring the 2016 Pantone Colors of the Year Rose Quartz and Serenity. We wanted to throw in a little something different, so we also incorporated a canoe for two - and a little surprise chicken! All the hard work paid off and this lovely shoot was featured on Midwest Bride this past June.
When the planning process started, we all knew we wanted to incorporate Rose Quartz and Serenity for the color scheme. Then came the slightly difficult task of how to incorporate the soft pastel tones without it going too 'baby showery.' By using a simple palette, lots of greenery, and layers of textures, we were able to create a romantic and adult garden party aesthetic.
The dress featured in the shoot is the Provence gown as part of the Astrid & Mercedes collection by Lea-Ann Belter. The blush gown is made of tulle with gossamer flower overlays, made of all natural silk, and is hand sewn in Canada. (While not featured as part of the shoot, the dress also has a stunning matching cathedral length veil with scattered gossamer flowers on the train!) We paired the gown with a custom designed cathedral length veil, delicate pearl and crystal hair pins, and a pearl bracelet, all by Sara Gabriel.
The amazing engagement ring was provided by Kimberly's Diamond Corner, and is a stunning 6.2 carat polished rose quartz ring surrounded by a little over half a carat of pave diamonds set in 14K white gold. The delicate pearl and diamond earrings were also provided by Kimberly's Diamond corner and really helped tie the whole look together!
Events Held Dear provided and designed the perfect sweetheart table for a newly married couple to enjoy a little champagne! The simple yet sophisticated cake was by The Cake Studio that was created especially for this shoot with a watercolor ombre effect. The bouquet, canoe, and centerpiece by Petals & Leaves featured gobs of David Austin roses, eucalyptus, tulips, hosta, and delphinium. One of our favorite things was the adorably sweet boutonniere!
